Malta Now Requires Pre-Departure Course for All Foreign Workers

New Mandatory Requirement

Starting March 1, 2026, all first-time third-country applicants for a single permit in Malta must complete a mandatory pre-departure course. This applies to all nationalities outside the EU.

What the Course Covers

The pre-departure course includes three main components:

Who Needs to Complete It?

All first-time applicants for a single permit. If you're renewing an existing permit, this requirement does not apply to you.
